As an upstanding corporate citizen within the Hong Kong community, we understand that from our business philosophy and operations down to the principles of our staff, we must be aligned with the many people and organisations that support us each day. Accordingly, we have implemented a number of initiatives across the Group to ensure that we continue reducing our impact on the environment, including waste and energy reduction programmes, among others.

This focus on creating a sustainable company intersects our broader community outreach programme, which over the years has seen us partner with a growing range of notable organisations across the areas of education, health, arts and culture, including, but not limited to, ORBIS Hong Kong, UNICEF, Hope Worldwide, Ho-Sum, Crossroads Foundation and Bring Me A Book. We were also one of the first companies to be named a Caring Company by The Hong Kong Council of Social Service, a recognition which is testament to our commitment to improving the lives of our staff and assisting the local community. Moreover, we set up our own charitable foundation, Sun Hung Kai Financial Foundation, in March 2010, which serves as a platform for the Group to provide charity and encourage its business associates and/or partners to provide charity for the improvement of the lives of disadvantaged people in Hong Kong and promote a healthier and stronger community through the following:

  • The relief of poverty;
  • The advancement of education; and
  • Other purposes of a charitable nature beneficial to the Hong Kong community, such as the improvement of the environment.

As we look to the future, we will continue to devote our time, resources and capital in fostering a stronger and sustainable Hong Kong.
